Scoring made simple

Rows won/lost, scoop bonus, royalties, and one complete score example.

Scoring becomes easy if you read it in 3 blocks: base, scoop, and royalties.

1) Base score (3 rows)

For each row against your opponent:

  • win: +1
  • lose: -1
  • tie: 0

The sum of 3 rows is your baseRowScore.

2) Scoop

If you win all 3 rows:

  • you gain +SCOOP_BONUS
  • opponent gets -SCOOP_BONUS

Current MVP default: SCOOP_BONUS = 3.

3) Royalties and final example

Royalties are row bonuses for made hands, applied only on non-foul hands.

Short example:

  • base: +1
  • scoop: 0
  • royalty diff: +3
  • final score: +4
